Governance within Kaleidoscope MAT
Governing within a trust or school also provides an opportunity for personal development, building your skills and experience in areas such as project management, budgeting, and working as part of a leadership team. Governing boards meet regularly to look at the big picture and the school or trust’s long-term goals. Governors typically serve at schools that are maintained by the local authority or at the local level within a trust, whereas trustees serve on an academy trust board. See our Governance Structure for how governance within Kaleidoscope is managed.

ACCOUNTABILITY
Kaleidoscope Multi Academy Trust Board of Trustees is accountable in law for all decisions about its academies. However, this does not mean that the Board makes all the decisions itself and as such, may choose to delegate to the CEO, Board Committees and Local Governing Bodies (LGB).
The decision to delegate a function is made by the full Board of Trustees and is recorded as such. Without formal delegation, the individual or committee has no power to act.
For all levels of governance, Kaleidoscope corporately commits to
The Seven Principles of Public Life (The Nolan Principles).
