Anne has been connected with schools both as a teacher and a parent for over 40 years.
Anne’s 5 children all went to Christ Church Primary School in the heart of Weston and have gone on to have successful careers around the country in a variety of professions.
Anne started her teaching career in the Secondary sector for nine years, working first in Birmingham and then at Broadoak Academy. During and following her time raising her young family, Anne switched to teaching in the Primary sector and worked at Becket Primary school for fifteen years of that time.
While her children were going through their primary education, Anne joined the governing body and eventually became Chair of Governors. In total, Anne gave 23 years of service to Christ church Governing Body – the last 18 years as Chair. Anne over-saw many changes in that time, including local financial management of schools, the change to a National Curriculum, the change in status of the school to Voluntary Aided, numerous building projects – and several headteachers!
Anne is a regular attendee at a local church and has run the mother and toddler group for over 20 years.
Anne retired from school in 2015 and from the FGB at Christ Church in 2016, and is looking forward to supporting Kaleidoscope as a Member.
