Born in the Midlands, I received my degree from Cardiff University in 1978, my PGCE from Bristol in 1979 and then joined Worle School that year as an English teacher. I spent my career there, with a year seconded to Broadoak School as Deputy Head in 2002/3, retiring from my post of Deputy Head at Worle in 2011. One of my roles at Worle was Head of Lower School over ten years when I worked closely with our partner primaries in the transition of pupils from Year 6 to Year 7. I remain passionate about education and the importance of the opportunities it can open for all involved.
I am Chair of Governors at Hutton Church of England School and am a Foundation Governor. I am Lay Reader at St. Mary's Church Hutton and enjoy being involved in village, school and church life. With my husband Tony, I enjoy family life, travelling, reading and film.
